| Message | but i guess if time is a factor, you could drop the front subframe. i have an engine torn apart in birmingham on a stand. i would take pictures if i was there. the oil pickup tube requires you have plenty of room to snake the pan down and toward the rear. here is a summary of what to do with engine in place:drop subframe
 drain oil
 unbolt pan bolts
carefully punch screwdriver(something similar in shape but plastic?) between lower deck and oil pan to break pan gasket seal in several places(it will not just fall, i have put several hundred pounds on a pan to get it to pull the gasket apart, if its a good gasket seal, it will need to be pryed)
locate all numbers to determine correct bearings as in fsm
 order bearings
rotate the crank around until the piston/rod is bottomed
 unbolt rod bolts
lightly tap rod studs to separate cap from rod
 pull cap with bearing
slide piston rod assembly up into the cylinder a bit for clearance making sure not to let the rod hit/smack the cylinder walls nor the crank(with rod studs)
replace bearings with the appropriate bearing on top vs bottom as in the fsm
slide assembly back down into place
 recap and torque rod bolts
crank should spin freely at all times
gasket up the oil pan, snake it into place carefully
support the pan and bolt pan bolts to support it
 let the liquid gasket cure
 tighten oil pan bolts
fill with oil with drain plug in place
 replace front subframe
please chime in with input, as i am not an engine builder, just an aspiring amateur.
